Blues hope to buck the trend

CHICHESTER will be looking to get their season back on track with a trip to bottom side Amersham and Chiltern tomorrow (Saturday, 2.30pm).

The Blues are currently on a four game losing streak and are yet to win away from home in National League 3 LSE this year.

But the trip to Buckinghamshire is the perfect chance for the Oaklands Park side to get the season back on track.

Chichester’s last match was a fortnight ago, with the Blues never recovering from a poor start before losing 39-24 to Westcliff.

That defeat leaves them second bottom and with plenty of ground to make up.

The week off though will have given head coach Rob Lawrence chance to get some of his seven injured players back on the pitch.

On paper, tomorrow’s match is the ideal opportunity for Chichester to get a bonus point victory as their opponents are win-less in the league and have just one point.

But Amersham, who have also suffered their own injury woes, will be sure to put up a fight.

Last season they secured a three point win at Oaklands Park while in Buckinghamshire, Chichester were fortunate to get the victory by a slender margin, eventually triumphing 18-16.

Expect a close encounter ahead as the city club look forward to gaining some points to kickstart their season.
