Long-serving Cox assists Pirate raid

NYETIMBER Pirates’ Andy Cox, pictured, marked his 100th first team appearance for the club in style, bagging a goal, two assists and the Man of the Match award in a 3-2 win against bottom side Petworth.

To add to his celebrations, the win maintains the Pirates’ unblemished league record and keeps them top of the West Sussex Premier.

Elsewhere and Selsey face a long trip to Lingfield in SCFL division one tomorrow (Sat, 3pm).

The Blues will be looking to pick up where they left off after a 4-2 win away at Southwick; Bradley Dean, Ryan Chittock, Morgan Forry and James Kilhams getting the goals.

In the SCFL division two cup, Bosham hit eight past hapless Ferring, with Marco Giambelardini grabbing a hat-trick.

In the same competition, Sidlesham won 3-2 away at Montpelier, with Thomas Bayley (2) and Thomas Jefkins getting the goals.

Both teams return to cup action tomorrow, this time in the Sussex Intermediate Cup.

Bosham travel to Polegate Town (1.30pm) and The Sids head to Nutley (1.30pm)
