Selsey look to banish the winter blues with third successive win

SELSEY are aiming to register three wins on the trot for the first time this season as they take on mid-table rivals Southwick at home tomorrow (3pm).

A poor run of form around Christmas saw Steve Bailey’s side banished to the bottom half of SCFL Division One.

But, the Blues bucked up their ideas and followed up a stunning 4-1 away win at promotion challengers  Little Common with a 3-2 win against Storrington on Saturday.

Joe Clarke scored twice early on before Ben Mepham sealed the victory with a third 15 minutes from time.

That win propelled Selsey up to eighth and within a chance of a top six finish.

If they are to do that they must make the most of their matches at the Bunn Leisure Stadium, starting tomorrow against Southwick.

The visitors sit one place below the Blues having played four more games.

The Wickers are in good form though, having lost just once in six in all competitions.

Selsey will be hoping to repeat their form earlier in the season when they beat Southwick 4-2 away from home.
