Dancers raise funds for food

POLE dancers are raising money to help provide meals for those in need in Bognor Regis.

Dozens of the dancers will be staging a fundraising show next week at the Bersted Park Community Centre in aid of the town’s foodbank.

The event will take place from 6-9pm on July 8. It is being held by Sue Thompson of Passion Fitness.

She holds six classes in the coastal West Sussex area. One of Bognor Regis students, Marie Abbott, took part in an earlier event last December to raise money for the Love Your Hospital cause.

She said: “The evening was great fun to be a part of as we got to show off our talents to our friends but also show beginners or potential new students what they can achieve.”

As well as Bognor Regis, students of the Pole Passion classes in Littlehampton, Chichester, Angmering, Worthing and Shoreham will perform in next week’s event.

It has been organised by the instructors across the six locations. Sue has been teaching in Bognor Regis for some six years and has increased her venues and class availability because of the high demand.

Next Saturday will give the students the chance to show their progress to their families and friends as well as helping a good cause.

The evening will also provide them with the chance to perform onstage without the pressures of a competition like the national event, Miss Pole Dance Semi-Pros-Amateurs, held at the centre earlier this month.

The fundraising show will include entertainment with several different dances on and off the pole and stalls from local businesses.

Tickets for the show cost £7.50 adults, £5 children (2-12) and under-twos go free. They can be bought from, 07792 148020 or
