Bognor are facing an uphill challenge to keep their spot in Sussex Division Two after falling to a seven wicket defeat at home to Ifield.
Mikey Harris top-scored with 49 after Max Ashmore’s side were put in to bat by the visitors. But, in what is becoming a bit of a trend, the rest of the Bognor batting line-up struggled as they managed to reach only 133 before being dismissed.
With the ball, Ashmore’s side kept things tight. But the score was never going to be enough and the visitors reached the target with plenty to spare.
That defeat means Bognor fall into the bottom two of the division, having only won one of their six games so far.
Ashmore will be hoping for more tomorrow (Saturday, 12.30pm) when they travel to Ditchling to play St James’s Montefiore.
Meanwhile, in division six west, Bognor seconds will be hoping to come out on top in the basement battle with Stirlands seconds.
Bognor suffered a heavy 137-run defeat on the road at Ifield seconds at the weekend, Joshua Broad top-scoring with 35.
