German guests given lessons at town school

GERMAN students got a taste of life at a Bognor Regis school.

One of the highlights for the party of visitors from one of the town’s German twins was a traditional and tasty English cream tea.

The young people from the Kant Gymnasium in Weil am Rhein and two of their teachers spent a morning at the school, pictured below by sixth former Jess Fitzpatrick.

They were hosted by students from Years 9 and 10 and attended a range of lessons. Sebastian Power, a Year 9 student, was positive about the whole experience. He said: “It was interesting to meet other people from another country and try out my German.”

The visit was arranged by Bognor Regis Twinning Association.

Its secretary, Bob Bonner, said: “The visitors thoroughly enjoyed their time at The Regis School and learnt a lot about life in an English school.”

Previous visits to the school have taken place through the association.

The school is part of the United Learning group of schools which provides education to more than 30,000 children across the UK.
