It took less than a month of the season for it to happen – but already Bognor are facing one of their customary injury crises.
Rocks fans have become used to the fact that a small squad can sometimes lead to difficulties.
With just five games just gone in the National League South campaign, boss Jack Pearce has one of those all to familiar selection headaches.
Last weekend’s match against Weston-Super-Mare pushed Bognor’s squad to the limits – with Ollie Pearce joining the injury list after picking up a groin strain.
Ahead of a bank holiday weekend of two matches in three days, the Rocks have four players who are looking doubtful – Jimmy Muitt, Pearce, Corey Heath and Doug Tuck.
While manager Jack Pearce says he is looking for short-term solutions, he admits it is not easy to do given the short period of time. He said: “It’s difficult with the amount of injuries that we have. As it stands, we are in for a challenging weekend so we need a few signings to help us for Monday.
“We can only sign people for Monday by 5pm on Friday so it’s not going to be easy. But we will review things at training and I’ll make calls to see if we can get some players.”
