FLYING Teddy delighted visitors to Bognor Regis as the organisers of the town’s biggest kite festival began to step up their preparations.
The giant aerial attraction was on display on the beach outside Butlin’s last weekend to gain plenty of attention.
Jan Malpas, one of the festival’s organisers, said: “It’s the first ever three day event for Bognor Regis.”
The fun will take place at West Park over the bank holiday weekend at the end of this month.
it will start at 10.30am on the Saturday and continue at the same times for the next two days. It will close at 9pm on the first day, 8.30pm on the Sunday and 5pm on the Monday.
“This is a free event for all the family, which has something for everyone,” said Jan. “Not only are fabulous, unusual huge kites flying but there are other attractions as well.”
These include live music, children’s entertainment with Nick Clark, a bar and refreshments, craft stalls and the popular kite-making workshops.
This will be the third year in which the kite festival has been held.
New for this year’s event will be the Great Bognor Bake-Off on the bank holiday Monday. The judges will be the Bearded Bakers. There are three classes for adults and one for children. Victoria sponges, novelty cakes and family favourites will be welcomed.
