The ROCKS head to the city of dreaming spires tomorrow dreaming of FA Cup glory.
But Jack Pearce’s side do so without one of their chief flyers, namely Kristian Campbell.
The 21-year-old has been one of the stand-out performers in recent weeks after arriving on a month’s loan from National League side Bromley.
That was further underlined when Campbell got on the scoresheet during the 3-1 defeat at Dartford last weekend, finishing well after a mazy run. But any hopes of the 21-year-old taking that form into the cup look to have been ruled out by his parent club who do not want the promising defender to be cup-tied.
With skipper Sami El-Abd and James Crane also out, Pearce will have to use all of his management experience to solve a defensive dilemma. If he succeeds then it will be a massive boost to a Bognor team that are hovering just above the National South drop zone. The £12,500 pay cheque for winning through will be welcomed, as will the prospect of a plum tie against league opposition.
But, before Rocks fans can start dreaming, the players must get things right on the pitch.
Tickets for tomorrow’s match are £12 adults, £6 OAPs and students and £3 under-16s.
