YOUNG and old residents can get their skates on in Bognor Regis this Christmas.
The town’s first indoor ice rink, similar to the one pictured above, is being opened this month.
The rink will be located in the Place St Maur, next to the Regis Centre, from November 23 until January 7.
It has been organised by town centre manager Toyubur Rahman with Bognor Regis Traders’ Association and Arun District Council.
Mr Rahman said: “This is a brilliant attraction for the town in the winter months, which are traditionally quieter, compared to the summer months.
“We are confident that this event will attract visitors from near and far and give them a great experience.”
Traders’ association chairman Chris Heaps said: “The lead came from one of our traders who became aware of the ice rink providers and suggested the Place St Maur.”
He praised Mr Rahman for working quickly with Arun to organise the attraction.
Alongside the rink of real ice, wooden hut stalls will offer seasonal food and drink and Christmas gifts plus fun children’s rides and a life-size snow globe.
James Coles, from First Point Event Management, said: “We are pleased to be able to offer this attraction for the first time in Bognor Regis as it’s our home town and we’ve seen the resort go from strength to strength over the last few years.”
