IT TOOK nearly 94 days. But, when the search for a Rocks league win finally came to the end, it was worth waiting for.
Some Bognor fans may have been forgiven for thinking that their team would not register another three points for the rest of 2017.
But, as has become the case, when their backs are up against the wall, Bognor deliver – and that’s exactly what they did when on the road at promotion-chasing St Albans City.
One man, though, who did not lose the faith was manager Jack Pearce, who believes the club will be so much stronger for their experience competing against sides with bigger budgets and stronger squads.
Pearce said: “Supporters and players like it when you’re winning. But it’s more of a challenge when teams are about the same level – that’s a challenge people should relish.
“I just keep on saying the same message: if we keep doing the right thing often enough, then results will turn.”
With the win followed up by a draw on Tuesday night against Oxford City, the challenge now is to string a run of positive results together. With winnable matches round the corner, Rocks fans should not be left wating for another three months.
