Cinema’s generosity results in recognition in national awards

BIG-HEARTED support for the community has seen the cinema in Bognor Regis gain national recognition.


The Picturedrome Cinema in received the highly commended accolade in the community spirit category of the 2018 Small Business Big Heart Awards in association with


The judges singled out the cinema for special recognition because of its support for the arts, sports and leisure of the local community.


Managing director Adam Cunard was nominated for the award and the judges were told: “Adam is a great believer in ‘giving back’. The Picturedrome sponsors a plethora of local events and causes – the local football club, the Southdowns Folk Festival and the carnival have all enjoyed his generosity.


“At Christmas, he pays for the town Christmas tree and lights, and even purchased extra baubles and a giant star when locals thought it looked too sparse!”


Rufus Bazley, the director of marketing at says: “All our regional finalists were worthy contenders, but the judges decided the Picturedrome and its on-going, unprompted support for local events, groups and activities made it worthy of this commendation.”


Mr Cunard said he was delighted to receive the commendation and was pleased to back causes around the town.
