Plan for Felpham hotel’s extra bedrooms backed by council

NINE extra bedrooms for a Felpham hotel have been approved.

The Beachcroft Hotel’s owners, Peter and Lana de Savary, received planning permission for the luxury suites.

Mr de Savary said: “We are pleased to announce that it has gained planning permission for an exciting new development of nine luxury hotel suites, to be known as Gull Point Suites On The Beach, planned to be completed by early spring 2019.

“The new accommodation will open up new possibilities for the area, supporting local businesses and providing an exciting modern focal point on the Felpham promenade.

The approval for the £2m plan was given by Arun District Council planning officer Richard Temple. He stated: “It is considered that the building, while different in style, draws on elements of the surrounding buildings resulting in a structure appropriate for a seaside location.”

The proposals attracted 49 letters of support and 23 of objection.

Mr de Savary thanked the scheme’s supporters. “Local residents will be consulted at all stages during the construction phase, which it is hoped will start mid-2018,” he added.
