Plenty of pasties from bakery sold after store opens in town

PASTY fervour has seen hundreds of the bakes a day bought from a new Bognor Regis store.

A staggering 1,595 pasties was sold in the first four days after the Warrens Bakery branch opened in The Arcade.

Of those, 781 were the firm’s well-known medium steak pasties as residents gained a taste for the premium craft bakery’s award-winning signature product.

The first few days of trading at the outlet saw 1,745 customers through its doors. They were queuing to get their hands on the firm’s famous Cornish pasties, freshly baked bread and breakfast treats.

The bakery company joined with franchisees Lee and Emma Johnson to open the outlet earlier this month.

Mr Johnson said: “We’re immensely proud to be part of the much-awaited regeneration scheme for Bognor Regis and employing six local residents.”

Mrs Johnson said: “We have been truly overwhelmed by the level of support shown by the people of the town.

“So many members of the public have shared with us their fond memories of holidays to Cornwall, eating Cornish pasties and enjoying saffron cakes.”

Warrens Bakery franchise operations manager Jackie Dillon said the company was proud to open its 17th franchised store in Bognor Regis.

“The store has already been a great success and the team look forward to welcoming many more customers.”
