Bognor bowled over by Worthing Pavilion

Bognor A men’s team will be looking to drag themselves away from the foot of the table as they welcome bottom-side Worthing to Waterloo Square tomorrow (2pm).

A defeat by Worthing Pavilion A last week means that Bognor A are now second-bottom in the West Sussex Division One with 14 points from four games.

Pavilion won on three rinks, scoring eight points to Bognor’s two, with the only victory coming from K Hellyer, P Lichfield, M Philpot and J Whitfield who won 23-17.

Fellow division one side Chichester A play just their fourth match of the season on Thursday when they welcome Pavilion B to Priory Park (2pm).

In division two, Bognor B will be looking to lift themselves off the foot of the table when they welcome Witterings to Waterloo Square on Monday (2pm).

Some of the Bognor squad got in some positive performances when Godalming BC visited the club for their annual mixed friendly game. It was a very enjoyable game which Bognor won by eight shots. Bognor play the return fixture in August.

Meanwhile, the Bognor Ladies kept up their winning form in the Game, Set & Match league division one game against Crablands.

They won on one rink and drew on the other, scoring five league points with Louise Saunders, Anne Parry, Margaret Phillips and Barbara Reardon winning 22-13.

Crablands won on the friendly rink.
