STAFF and relatives of a Bognor Regis care home are cycling along the coast for charity.
The intrepid cyclists from Aldwick House are getting ready to get in their saddles again and pedal their way along the 40-mile route to Brighton in aid of Dementia UK.
They will be taking part in the fundraising initiative on June 24 and hope to raise £200.
The charity is close to the hearts of those at the home’s care provider, New Century Care, because it specialises in caring for residents with dementia.
Those employees from the home, such as activities co-ordinator Donna Giles and home manager Karen Crosby, are asking for volunteers to join them.
They could boost the numbers taking part on the day, take on a 40-mile bike ride of their choosing or simply donate to the JustGiving page of the home in Nyewood Lane.
Donna said: “Last year, the challenge proved to be a great day out and everyone involved had a really lovely time.
“This time we are increasing the distance from 31 miles to 40 miles in the hope of reaching our target of £200.
“Fundraising events like these are a great chance for us to come together as a community and make a difference to Aldwick House. Dementia UK is a fantastic charity that makes a huge difference to the lives of individuals and families such as our residents.”
The 2017 bike ride was among several fundraising events to maintain the home’s popular sensory garden.
