ONE OF the world’s leading martial arts experts will be passing on his skills in Bognor Regis.
Matt Fiddes will be taking part in a fundraising day to help women in the town who have suffered abuse.
Some six sessions of martial arts displays are being staged during the June 17 occasion by tutors and students of his martial arts training school in the town. It is one of 600 he has founded across the world in a career which has seen him hailed as a martial arts superstar.
The events will take place from 11am-4pm on the recreation ground in front of the Bognor Youth and Community Centre in Westloats Lane. The sessions will include advice about how a person should react in a situation where they are scared and how they can protect themselves without harming others.
One of the organisers, Kirsty Vear, said: “We are raising money for the centre so they can continue to support women who have suffered abuse and to help them to get back on their feet to be able to live confidently.”
It is hoped enough funds will be raised to buy equipment for the group which helps the women. There will also be stalls selling items such as sweets.
