DOZENS of dogs came from far and wide to take part in a Felpham show.
They wagged their tails, looked pretty and handsome, showed off their haircuts and generally enjoyed being at the event held by the Snooks Corner Community Group.
One of the show’s organisers, Simone Froud, said: “The best in show was won by a French bulldog called Doris.
“The judge, Melanie Thomas, had a hard job choosing the furry friends in the different categories but, at the end of the day, the weather stayed kind, and fun and games were had by all.”
The show took place at Longbrook Park on the seafront on Saturday. A barbecue, plenty of tea and cakes and ice cream galore, including for dogs, helped to make the occasion another success for the group.
Its members are based in five of the oldest roads in Felpham, close to the park, and work with Arun District Council to improve the area.
This includes working parties to clear up litter and tidy up areas, which include the banks of the Aldingbourne Rife.
“We organise several local events, such as quiz nights, table top sales and this fun dog show, which is our second,” said Simone.
Some of the funds raised go to charities and some towards the group’s work.
