Jungle comes alive in town school’s play

Year 6 children at Edward Bryant School wowed the audiences at two performances of The Jungle Book.

Assistant headteacher and Year 6 teacher Barry Robinson said: “The shows went really well. The children loved them. The parents enjoyed them as well and loved the costumes.”

Among the performers last week was Matilda Groves, 11, as Shere Khan. She said: “It’s really fun playing a baddie. I’m really enjoying it.

“I’ve never done that before in the drama group I belong to.

“I feel scared before I go on stage but I love it when I am there and never want it to end.”

Megan McGarry, 11, was Bagheera. She said: “It’s the first time I have been in a play here and I’m excited.”

Baloo was played by William Wreford, 11. He said: “I’ve played Baloo before but this is a completely different script.”
