TWO NEW members of the West Sussex County Cabinet have been announced.
Cllr Roger Elkins, pictured above, takes on responsibility for highways and infrastructure.
He has many years of experience as a senior Conservative member of Arun District Council for Ferring and is a county councillor for East Preston and Ferring. He enjoyed a career in the construction industry before he retired.
“I’m delighted to be joining the cabinet and look forward to working with the highways team on issues that are important to people in West Sussex who use our roads,” he said.
He replaces Cllr Bob Lanzer, who becomes the cabinet member for corporate relations. This role includes customer relations and data protection as well as many behind the scenes services which have an impact on the lives of residents.
Cllr Paul Marshall, who is the Conservative councillor for Storrington, will become the cabinet member for children and young people.
He has been a member of the county council’s children and young people’s services select committee and is a district councillor in Horsham.
