WEST SUSSEX is still the best place to retire, offering pensioners the highest quality of life, according to the Prudential’s 2018 Retirement Quality of Life Index.
For a second year running, the county has been awarded the top spot of any in England and Wales.
Dorset came in second position, East Sussex was third, the Isle of Wight fourth, followed by Norfolk in fifth.
Analysis of the latest publicly available data for England and Wales shows that West Sussex was the most attractive area for pensioners based on access to health care, weather, healthy lifestyle, happiness and crime levels.
The number of pensioners moving to the county is also an indicator of how attractive the area is to other retired people.
The south coast of England dominates the top places to live in.
