COUPLES will be remembering one of the happiest days of lives at a celebration of weddings in Pagham.
St Thomas a’Becket Church is hosting a special event tomorrow to mark the occasions.
More than 30 couples are taking part by loaning wedding dresses and other attire, writing the stories of their marriages and displaying photos and memorabilia.
Several mothers, daughters and sisters will be exhibiting alongside each other to provide a glimpse into the role the church plays in the lives of families who live around it.
The Rev Mark Eminson, the church’s vicar, said: “Some of our participating couples married very young, while others tied the knot a little later in life, or for the second time around.”
Wedding-themed flowers will adorn the church for the event, from 11am-4pm. Music that was played at the featured weddings will be performed.
Visitors will also have the rare chance to see marriage registers dating back to the 1700s on loan from the county records office.
Entry is by donations. Funds raised will go to the church’s Raise the Roof Appeal for a new roof.
