Jo’s a star attraction at church’s latest event designed for wome

A COMEDY club conversion of a Bognor Regis church was a side-splitting success.

The transformation of Opengate Church took place for its first women-only comedy night as part of its Cherished series of events.

Guest comedienne Jo Enright provided the jokes to the delight of the large audience in the Victoria Drive building.

Two bars and ice cream were available at the interval to add to the impression of a special night out for those present.

Jo lived up to her award-winning reputation with an hilarity-filled time.

The packed house also enjoyed music with Cathy Burton.

Event organiser Julie Passmore said: “We have had 100 per cent positive feedback. The night exceeded our expectations.”

The church’s next Cherished occasion is fast approaching. It will take place on November 10 with guest speaker Ellen Wild and her theme of Spiritual Adoption – what every heart should know.

The day-long occasion will include coffee, lunch and a range of seminars and workshops. It is looking to be another sell-out.

Ellen is a leader at Chichester Baptist Church, a keen baker and passionate about helping women to discover their inner worth and move to higher levels of self-confidence and freedom.

Tickets are available from Eventbrite, or 01243 821891.
