JUDGE Suzanne Holroyd has praised flower lovers in Bognor Regis for their hard-working efforts.
Ms Holroyd was pleased with the good display by members of the town’s horticultural society in their annual autumn show in spite of the difficult growing season caused by the season’s weather.
She was especially amazed at the number of entries in the fuschia section.
The show attracted 44 entries at Bersted Jubilee Hall in North Bersted last week.
This was fewer than last year but still enough to give Ms Holroyd a difficult decision choosing the winners.
She selected the best in show winner as David Donovan, for his display of runner beans.
The best pot plant award was won by Pat Alderton and the best dahlia award was claimed by Bet Chapman.
The society’s next meeting takes place at 7.30pm on October 25 at the hall, off Chalcraft Lane in North Bersted. Melissa Hauffe will be giving a talk on sweet peas. New members are always welcome.
