Community News & Views | Golfers thanked by Chichester Stroke Club members

GENEROUS golfers have been thanked by members of Chichester Stroke Club.

The ladies from Chichester Golf Club have presented a cheque for £2,142.39 at the stroke club’s latest annual meeting.

The handover, pictured above, was carried out by Jane Buckley, the lady captain of the golfers, to Jackie Palmer and Sharon Fewings, of the stroke club.

Jackie thanked Jane for choosing the stroke club as her charity of the year and for raising such a good amount.

The generosity of Jane and her fellow lady members was wonderful and greatly appreciated.

Ron Robinson, of the stroke club, said: “Chichester Stroke Club is a unique facility providing continued aftercare and encouragement to stroke survivors through mental and physical stimulation and support and respite for carers and partners.

“This enables them to meet like-minded people in a relaxed environment.

“The Chichester Stroke Club also raises awareness of stroke to the local community through fundraising, a website, speakers and outings.

“The club is run entirely by a dedicated team of volunteers. New volunteers are always welcome. Anyone interested should contact 01243 780852.
