Chris is a sea-nic artist with his works of materials from beaches

ARTIST Chris Thomas has welcomed his MP to view his recycled artwork at his Elmer home.

Mr Thomas creates pieces of art from recycled material and acrylic paint.

Most of the materials he uses are flotsam and jetsam he finds on the Elmer and Middleton beaches.

The photograph shows beer cans picked up from the foreshore which Chris has turned into sails in a typical piece of creativity from him.

He has suffered from chronic degeneration of the spine since 1996. Before that, Chris had worked in construction and on trawlers.

Nick Gibb, Conservative MP for Bognor Regis and Littlehampton, said it had been a delight to visit Chris.

He said: “Chris Thomas is a talented and imaginative artist, turning beach flotsam and jetsam into appealing pieces of art.

“His home is like an art gallery and a pleasure to see.

In 2015, Mr Thomas held his first exhibition in Bognor Regis.
