Reminder to register to vote

RESIDENTS around Bognor Regis have been urged to make sure they can vote in this year’s local elections.

All 52 seats on Arun District Council are up for grabs on May 2, along with those on Bognor Regis Town Council and the surrounding parishes.

Anyone who is not yet registered to vote has until April 12 to make sure they will receive a polling card.

Visit Arun’s website at to register online or to request a registration form from the council’s electoral registration officer, Nigel Lynn.

Mr Lynn said: “It is so important to use your vote and we are encouraging those who are eligible to vote to register now.

“This is really important if you have recently, or are about to turn 18, or if you haven’t voted for some time.

“This is your chance to make your voice heard and influence the way local government works in your community.”

Voters can choose to vote at a polling station or by a postal or proxy vote.

Applications to vote by post or to change an existing postal or proxy voting arrangement must be received by Arun by 5pm on April 15.

More details about how to vote are on the council’s website.
