MOUSTACHES made money when Bognor Regis Golf Club members decided to help a hospital.
The golfers decided to grow the facial hair to back an appeal to improve urology treatment in West Sussex.
Their efforts raised nearly £2,000 to take the appeal’s total to more than £30,000.
The cheque was sent to Paul Carter, a consultant urological surgeon for Western Sussex Hospitals Foundation Trust and the Chichester Nuffield Hospital, as a surprise.
He said: “We have already raised a significant amount of money for Love Your Hospital and are keen to use these funds raised by the members specifically to improve equipment used in our multi-disciplinary meetings where we discuss our local cancer patients.”
Love Your Hospital is the dedicated charity for the trust.
The actions of the golfers stemmed from a 100-mile sponsored bike ride by the surgeons around West Sussex last October after the Velo South mass cycle ride was cancelled.
