Online appeal gains donations after fire damages family home

AN ONLINE fundraising appeal for a Felpham family whose home was destroyed by fire raised more than £3,000 in a day.

The GoFundMe appeal was so popular it was trending on its website during Wednesday.

The total had climbed to £3,440 by yesterday afternoon towards its target of £15,000.

The appeal was started by Tracey Arnell. She wrote: Our wonderful friends Ginnie Harper (Mason), Jason Gibbons and their family have had their world turned upside down as a blaze that started at their house has destroyed their home.

“Ginnie and her family managed to get out safely and are staying with friends and family following this devastating incident that has resulted in the family losing their home and possessions.”

The fire in Mornington Crescent started just after midnight on Sunday.

Six fire crews spent up to eight hours tackling the blaze. Smoke and heat damaged all the house.
