Event to celebrate group’s first year

A special evening is being staged by a Bognor Regis-based community drama school.

Dramatis is holding An Evening Soiree for a night of after-dinner entertainment next Thursday.

The event will take place at the Jeneses Arts Centre in Linden Road.

It will provide residents with the chance to find out about its work and future plans, enjoy two short performances from the Dramatis adult drama group and enjoy a chat over a wine and music from a young musician.

Tickets will cost £5 to include two glasses of wine a person. A £2 donation from each ticket will go to Bognor Regis Pier Watch.

Dramatis was started by qualified drama teacher Suzy Duxbury as a drama school with a heart.

Her emphasis is on nurturing individual personalities and skills.

She said: “The Bognor Regis community has been so supportive in helping me launch Dramatis.

“This one year anniversary celebration is the perfect time to show local residents what we’ve been up to and what we’ve got planned next.

“It’s also a great opportunity to bring local residents together for an enjoyable evening away from the TV.”

The first performance on the night will be a rehearsed reading. Written by its Act Your Age, adults drama group, it will feature a sci-fi/comedy script.

The second performance centres around three women who stumble across an object which wreaks havoc while they sort through their recently deceased mother’s belongings.
