Volunteers have been thanked for their hard work in making the Chichester and Bognor Regis areas better.
This year’s volunteers’ week, which ends today, has given Voluntary Action Arun and Chichester (VAAC) the chance to celebrate all those who give their unpaid time to help others.
VAAC is holding an open air volunteer fair from 11am-3pm today on Chichester Cathedral green.
More than 30 organisations that are looking for volunteers will be present. Everyone who goes along will find a large variety of roles available.
Jenny Holmes, VAAC’s senior admin and communications officer, said: “It’s important to celebrate volunteers throughout the year, as the time they give makes such a massive difference.
“But, in volunteers’ week, we have the opportunity to say an extra big thank you to let our incredible local volunteers know just how much we appreciate them and all they do.
“The practical help, as well as the passion, energy and enthusiasm that volunteers provide, really are invaluable and play a massive role in shaping and improving our local communities.
“If you have given your time to a local organisation this year, whether regularly or just as a one-off, thank you. We think you’re amazing.”
