New Bognor Hotham Rotary Club president Karen Holman began her year in office with three presentations.
Karen was handed her chain of office by the outgoing president Terry Farndell at the start of the Rotary year.
Terry was thanked for his achievements during the past year. Karen highlighted some of her hopes for the coming 12 months.
The ceremony was immediately followed by the presentation by Karen of prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship Awards to two deserving club members.
John Holman, pictured below with Karen, and John Bailey, who are both long-standing members of the club, were proudly presented with the awards by the new president.
The recognition reflects the outstanding commitment they have made to the club and the community over many years.
A club spokesman said: “The prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship Award is the highest accolade that the Rotary organisation can bestow and was created many years ago in memory of businessman Paul Harris who founded Rotary in 1905 in order to exchange ideas and ‘give back’ to the community.”
Karen’s final presentation was to John Baitup, who will fill the role of her vice-president.
