Eastergate Village Hall is the setting for a community breakfast bringing people of all ages together.
Taking place once a month, Nina Nina-Maria McMaster, hosts a community breakfast, inviting everyone along.
For £2.50, everyone gets a fried breakfast, as well as unlimited cups of tea or coffee.
Wendy Whitmarsh attended her second breakfast at the hall on September 25 with her husband, Pete.
She said: “My daughter dragged us here for the first time. She said we needed to get out more. It’s a super idea having things like this in the community.
“It’s nice meeting new people to talk to, some people we meet here we haven’t seen in years. These days you get in the car to go to the shops, we don’t get to bump into people like we used to. I go to the WI, I think it’s important to do social things like this.”
Nina has been running a variety of community events in the hall over the past few years. “I’ve been running coffee mornings here for 18 months now,” she said. “We came up with the idea on new year’s day. We had more than 100 people turn up.
“It’s nice to come together, it’s a friendly atmosphere. People come back, we just get more people every time. We’re also thinking of doing a Christmas dinner on Christmas day. We’re asking for local businesses to support that if they can.
“People find it hard asking their neighbours for help because they feel like they’re imposing. People don’t have to worry about that here.”
