VE Day will be among the subjects covered in the next meeting of a club in Bognor Regis.
April’s session of the 2 O’clock Club at the town’s Regis Centre will feature a humorous talk by Tony and Lizzie Gilks called The Way We Were.
A Regis Centre spokesman said: “Tony and Lizzie will have lots of artefacts and stories to tell the audience, many of which will spark memories of Britain at the end of the Second World War and shortly afterwards. “This will be a fascinating and amusing afternoon.”
The 2 O’clock Club is proving a great success in its initial months after it was launched to provide community afternoon entertainment.
The object of the events is to provide a range of quality entertainment, which includes cabarets, talks, choirs and specialist acts.
This month’s meeting saw the audience overwhelmed by the superb voice of Mitchell Armstrong. His variety of songs included many from West End musicals.
The club meets on the first Tuesday monthly. Tickets cost £5.50 and £3.50 concessions and include a hot drink and biscuit.
