A Bognor Regis hairdresser turned heads and even impressed a Star Wars actor with his creative cut.
Warwick Davis did a double take when he spotted the Yoda haircut created by stylist Daren Terry.
“He was so impressed that he immediately posted a snap of it to his 700,000 followers on social media platform Twitter.
Daren, who has gained widespread media coverage for his ingenious haircuts shaved in to clients’ heads, was asked to design the look for Star Wars fanatic Adrian Ramsden, 49.
Warwick accompanied Adrian and a plane-load of fanatics of the epic space-opera franchise on a Virgin Atlantic week-long trip to Florida’s Walt Disney World Resort.
Along with a picture, he tweeted: “Met this guy at the boarding gate… painted his head, he had… like Yoda it looked. Crazy fan, I thought. Call security, I did!”
Daren, who with his business partner and wife, Kate, runs Lotus Styling in Bognor Regis, said it was thrilling to have a famous actor acknowledge his work.
He said: “It was a painstaking creation but ultimately very satisfying. I knew I’d made a good job of it when Adrian saw it and was gobsmacked.
“But then to see Warwick, someone actually in the films, appreciate my work was really exciting.
“It went down a storm across the pond, too, and that is great to hear that something I created has been such a success and being appreciated around the world.”
Adrian, 49, who has twin girls — one of whom is named after Princess Leia — wanted the eye-catching look to attend the special Star Wars.
Adrian, who is from Portsmouth and works for AMK transport business in Liphook, said: “Warwick was great fun and really friendly. He was taken aback by my haircut and wanted a picture so he could tweet it out, which was surreal if I am honest.
“Daren is a genius. He spent almost seven hours creating this masterpiece and, believe me, it went down a storm with the Americans — they loved it and kept saying, ‘awesome’! The response was incredible and it was truly an amazing experience – one which I will never forget.
