Bognor Regis BID launches online high street

Bognor Regis BID has launched ‘Shop Local Bognor Regis’, a new website for local businesses, groups and organisations to show the range of adapted services they’re offering during Coronavirus social-distancing rules, in one, easy to find online location.

Businesses, groups and organisations have been adding their details,  and the site is going live with over 30 local listings, with numbers increasing on a daily basis.

While you cannot shop directly through the website, visitors can link directly to any online shops businesses have set up, and email businesses and organisations directly from their listing to find out more information.   Businesses and organisations are able to update their details really quickly as the guidance on social distancing measures change.

Bognor Regis BID Co-ordinator, Heather Allen said: “We wanted to create a way that our fantastic local shops, businesses and organisations could update their customers and the community on how they are still operational.

“We recognised that so many businesses had made massive changes to adapt their businesses in a ridiculously short period of time, but not everyone went down the online shopping route, or was in a position where they felt ready to take that on.  We therefore focused on delivering something that would benefit the most number of people.

“I’d like to encourage more businesses, groups and organisations to list on the site as, the more people that list, the better the site will be, because all the information people in the community are asking for and need will be in one place, rather than dotted around on different Facebook posts, or on numerous websites that people have to look up.  You may not be able to serve your customers in person at the moment, but this is a great way to show them that you’re still here and that you’ll be coming back.”

As a BID project, business listings are restricted to businesses located in the BID Area, whether they are levy payers or not.  However, while the social distancing restrictions are affecting all of our community,  the BID Is also inviting any non-BID area groups, charities and organisations that are providing support to the local community at no charge to list on the site for free.

If you’d like to list on the site, or for further information, please email Heather Allen at:
