The Big Sleep Out comes indoors during lockdown

A homeless charity in Chichester and Bognor Regis is hosting a new event for people to do at home to help raise funds.

Stonepillow support and empower homeless and vulnerable people to achieve sustainable independence and wellbeing. The charity  provide support 365 days a year across Chichester and Arun, offering a complete recovery journey focusing on improving health and wellbeing and sustaining independent living.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the demands on their frontline services grow and change daily. Due to cancelling all fundraising events, closure of our social enterprise and reduced income, Stonepillow are asking for Post readers to help and support them now more than ever to enable them to continue responding to the challenges facing people who are homeless and rough sleeping.

Hosting your own ‘Little Big Sleep Out’ while you are isolating at home is a great way to raise funds to support the work Stonepillow do.

A spokesman said: “We are inviting everyone to join us in a fun event on Saturday, May 16, by changing where you sleep for just one night. Be as imaginative and original as you can, then post your photos and videos on social media to enter our ‘Silliest Sleeping Space’ competition.”

Join in at home and be part of the biggest ‘Little Big Sleep Out’ ever. Family entertainment will be available to stream online throughout the afternoon and evening, with live performances of singing, magic, fun fitness, quizzes and lots of printable materials for puzzles, colouring and exciting things to do on the day. Please keep an eye on our Facebook page for an updated program of events.
